Tucson Poetry Festival
From AZPoetrypedia
The Tucson Poetry Festival, the longest-running poetry festival in the Southwest, was founded in 1981 and has been bringing poetry to new audiences for 28 years. Their mission is "to celebrate--and expand the audience for--contemporary poetry." The Festival takes place in early April and includes workshops, slams, and panel discussions in addition to featured readings. By inviting a diverse and eclectic range of poets, showcasing local, national and international talent and highlighting both emerging and established poets, TPF has provided over 50,000 people with the opportunity to hear over 200 superb visiting and local poets. Ocotillo Literary Endeavors, Inc. was formed in 2003 to produce the Festival and other projects.
