Anthology is a non-profit literary organization founded for the purposes of promoting the literary arts in Arizona. The organization is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization and an Arizona nonprofit corporation.


History

Incorporation

The organizion began it's IRS Advanced Ruling Period for non-profit consideration statius on February 5th, 2002, and was recognized officially on March 23rd, 2006.

Anthology magazine

The organization traces it's roots back to 1990, when then Arizona State University undergraduate Joseph Giunta (External Link) launched a small zine publication called Anthology. In 1994, Joe met new Arizona resident Bob Nelson (External Link) and together they revamped and relaunched the zine as a magazine. They were joined by artist and editor Nick Ozment in 1995. In 1996, Joe and Nick left magazine service and was replaced by Sharon Skinner [1]. In 1998, Sharon was assisted by Dawn Tarter-Brewton and Lisa Harris as poetry and prose editors. In 2000, Dawn left magazine service and Lisa left in 2002. The magazine was shuttered in 2005 (see magazine entry for additional details).
